Where do I pick up my B F D Pass?
You can pick up your B F D Pass(es) in the lobby of the Alameda Theater & Cineplex, 2317 Central Avenue, Alameda, CA or at any of our offsite events. See list at bottom of page for times and locations.
Additionally, we will be having a Pass Pick Up Party on Sunday, February 18th, 2024 from 4-6pm at The Preacher’s Daughter, 1629 Park Street, Alameda.
When can I pick up my B F D Pass?
On any day of the festival, February 22nd-25th, 2024, during screening times or before an event. Check the Schedule for start times and program lengths.
What do I need to obtain my B F D Pass?
Simply provide your I.D.
Where do I park?
There is a paid parking garage attached to the Alameda Theatre, 1416 Oak St near Central.
What can I see with my B F D Pass?
A LOT! Everything, in fact! Eight features. Six shorts programs. That’s over 20 hours of film! Plus six fantastic party events. Plus, four free panels from Industry Insiders. You can check out detailed information regarding our feature films, shorts programs and events on our Day by Day Schedule. We suggest planning in advance what to see to make the best use of your pass. RSVP will be required for select programming.
Where do the movies show?
In Theatre #2, Theatre #3, and Theatre #4. Ground Floor of the Alameda Theatre Cineplex (Additional screenings upstairs on Sunday). There will be a schedule posted in the lobby indicating which theatre each program is in.
When do doors open to the programs?
As a B F D Passholder, you have Fastrack, Priority Seating. We will open the doors to you (and single ticket holders )around 15 minutes before each program. You may line up 20 minutes before. (A-Lister Passholders, then Indie Passholders will be seated at 10 and 5 — or when B F D line is empty)
How long are the programs?
Running times vary. Please consult the schedule. Note that the running time listed excludes the Q&A. For example, a running time of 74 minutes is the combined length of the short films (or feature) in the program. After each block there is a Q&A with any filmmakers that are present.
Can I share my B F D Pass?
B F D Passes are not transferable or shareable once picked up. This allows us to provide the best experience possible for our B F Ds!

Kick-Off Nightcap at Cinema Grill, 2/22 - 9PM-10PM
Following the screening and Q & A of No Right Way, join us next door at the Cinema Grill for a nightcap and live music! B F D Passholders will receive one complimentary glass of beer or wine or one cocktail. Enjoy the salsa sounds of Mio Flores while meeting your fellow B F D Passholders! Join us for a night of dancing at one of San Francisco’s legendary venues, Cat Club! With a private AIFF Lounge Area, Filmmakers and B F Ds will be treated to free entry and a complimentary cocktail. Free Entrance, Lounge Area, and Complimentary Cocktail is for B F D Passholders and Filmmakers only.
*Please note: In order to gain free entrance, you must enter prior to 10PM. After 10PM, you will pay a cover of $15. Anyone is welcome to attend.

To close out our festival, AIFF will be presenting thousands of dollars in awards to filmmakers. Afterwards, we’ll party at Cinema Grill before saying goodbye to our filmmakers. Space is limited for the awards ceremony: Priority will be given to B F D Passholders and Filmmakers. After that, it is open to the public as is the closing party at Cinema Grill. There will be light appetizers and a complimentary drink for B F D Passholders and Filmmakers.
RSVP RequiredPlease note that The Cookers @Yoshi event is not a B F D event. Tickets are available through AIFF at a discount. The Yoshi’s event conflicts with the Kick-Off Film, No Right Way, on Thursday, February 22nd.
