Change the System: Building Black Wealth is a short film documenting the journey of Otis Ward, an Oakland high school senior, as he attends financial education classes at the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, while grappling with the pressures of leaving his hometown and starting college life.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion of the film and racial wealth equity with Otis Ward, Carla Peterman (Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer at PG&E), Dr. Christine Wachira (Owner of Wachira Wines and the first Kenyan born California Winemaker), and director Brady Anderson.
